Warning - Pic overload!

Don't say I didn't warn ya! Here are the pics taken by the sports photographers at the marathon and 1/2 marathon. I'll add captions for my own pictures - for Adam, the caption is, "would you look at the guy with the hot legs?" (and, to my Mother-in-law, just pretend that the caption said, "great job honey!")

The clock above is the total running time for ALL runners from the moment that the fireworks went off. This doesn't take into account the "chip" reading from when Adam actually crossed the start line. His actual time was 1:58:(something - I can't remember right this second). They adjust for the final results.

This was at mile 20 - I was just thankful that I wasn't wearing a wool kilt about now!

This was right around mile 11 - I was really feeling very good!

Running through the castle - about mile 10.5

Marathon Weekend - AKA - WE DID IT!!

This weekend was the DisneyWorld marathon weekend. Adam ran the 1/2 marathon on Saturday and I ran the full marathon on Sunday. Here's a quick recap:

First - Adam ran the 1/2 marathon yesterday. He finished in 1:58:19 and was 1766 out of 12,434 finishers (he was 249th place in his Division).

Because I'm verbose, I'll give you more details about mine - it's my style! It was TOUGH, but I was able to run all but 2 miles, and those walking miles were due to knee pain. My muscles and body weren't overly fatigued. I managed to keep my heart rate between 152 and 157 through out and really felt like I ran a smart marathon. When I rounded the corner and saw the finish line, I felt such a swell of pride. Just 2 years ago, I weighed 210 pounds and couldn't run 1 block - now, thanks to the 20/20 program and a lot of hard work, I've run a marathon. It feels SO amazing!!

I found the result today - I finished in 6:16:13 and was 12,665 out of 14,940 finishers and 827th place in my Division.

The ABC's of Life

While I typically just post "Bailey stuff" I thought I'd take a small break to post this "alphabet for life" that I found today:

Accept differences
Be kind
Count your blessings
Dream
Express thanks
Forgive
Give freely
Harm no one
Imagine more
Jettison anger
Keep confidences
Love truly
Master something
Nurture hope
Open your mind
Pack lightly
Quell rumors
Reciprocate
Seek wisdom
Touch hearts
Understand
Value truth
Win graciously
Xeriscape
Yearn for peace
Zealously support a worthy cause
